Bears Win Pair to Open 2018

WELLESLEY, Mass. – A trio of Bears each won two events leading Coast Guard to wins over both Babson and host Wellesley in a double dual to open 2018.

The Bears beat Babson 171-55 and Wellesley 147-94 to improve to 3-4 in dual meets on the year.

Emily Benson won the 500 freestyle (5:23.11) and the 1,000 freestyle (11:09.24), Kristen Young won the 100 freestyle (54.28) and the 200 freestyle (1:58.15) and Sarah Passilla won the 200 IM (2:14.64) and the 200 breaststroke (2:33.27)         

Also for the Bears, Julianne Rogers won the 200 breaststroke (2:39.60), Hannah Fernandes won the 50 freestyle (25.31), Celia Marzinsky won the 200 butterfly (2:14.09) and Jane Turner won the 200 backstroke (2:22.34).

The Bears 4x400 medley relay of Samantha KenisSarah Passilla, Marzinsky and Kristen Young won with  a time of 4:08.95 while the 200 free relay team of Jackie Kokomoor, Fernandes, Felicia Lombardi and Christine McCulla also won.

Coast Guard is back in action on Saturday at MIT at 1:00.
