NEW LONDON, Conn.-- Coast Guard women's lacrosse had three placed on the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) All-Conference teams. Sophomore goalkeeper Mary Budri was named to the first team. Senior Leah Llewellyn and sophomore Etta Davis were placed on the second team.
Budri, the only goalkeeper on the first team, earns the honor for the first time in her career. She led the NEWMAC with a 53.0 save percentage and was second in the conference with a 9.71 goals against average. She allowed a league-low of a 117 goals and was first on the team 42 ground balls and caused 10 turnovers.
Llewellyn earns the second team honors for the second straight season. The Bears defense was fourth in the NEWMAC with 184 caused turnovers. Llewellyn was tied for fourth in the conference and led the Bears with 30 caused turnovers and was second on the team with 39 ground balls.
Davis earns the second team honor for the first time in her career. She was the top scorer for the Bears with 29 goals and was third on the team in points with 35. Davis also added six assists and was second on the team with 47 draw controls.
Coast Guard finished with a 7-11 record and 4-4 in the NEWMAC. They also hosted their first ever postseason game in a quarterfinal loss to Wheaton.
