NORTON, Mass – Coast Guard (8-6, 0-2) dropped their first two conference games of the season losing to Wheaton (15-3, 8-0) 12-0 in both games.

In game one Junior starter Sarah Sorensen took the loss on 3 2/3 innings pitched, eight hits, six runs (five earned) and two walks.

Sophomore Danielle Cimino completed the fifth inning for Wheaton allowing three hits and no walks to go with one punchout.

Leading 3-0 after the third inning, the Blue and White doubled their advantage in the fourth with a two-run blast from sophomore shortstop Mary DeMoura and an RBI single up the middle by classmate Emily Bouthillette. DeMoura's two-run shot was the first home run of her collegiate career.

Wheaton then broke the game completely open in the fifth with a six-run frame highlighted by a solo home run, which hit the scoreboard in right field, off the bat of sophomore Caroline Fairbanks and a bases clearing triple by classmate Jessica Cochrane.
