Why did you choose to come to the Coast Guard Academy? I came to the Academy because the opportunities that you have while you're at the Academy and after you graduate are endless. The military aspect and the chance to have a guaranteed job on the water was very appealing. Also, the sailing program, the facilities, and the venue are second to none.
How long have you been sailing? How did you start sailing? I started sailing at the age of ten when I participated in a summer sailing program.
What is your favorite thing about the sailing team at Coast Guard? The team is basically a family, and I love how close everyone is.
What other activities/positions/clubs are you involved with on campus? The surf club.
What is the sailing achievement that you are most proud of? I am most proud of when I won the Laser Radial North Americans in New Jersey.
What are your future sailing plans and career goals after graduation? After I graduate, I plan on continuing sailing in the Laser, and race on offshore boats.
Tell us something that your teammates would be surprised to know about you. I have surfed during a hurricane
