NEW LONDON, Conn. – Junior Mike Melampy won both of his singles matches while the doubles team of junior John Hu and freshman Arthur Wicke won both doubles matches to highlight the Bears performances at the Conn. College/Coast Guard Invitational.
Melampy playing in the #3 singles flight won 6-4, 6-1 over Eric Teece from St. Lawrence and 7-6, 3-6, 10-6 over Nick Lisichenok from Stonehill.
Hu and Wicke, the Bears #3 doubles team, won 9-7 over Babson and 8-4 over Conn. College.
Sophomore Tom Hackett (#1 singles), Hu (#2 singles) and the Bears #1 doubles team of Hackett and sophomore Jack Phillips also posted wins for Coast Guard.
