No. 16 Bears Remain Undefeated with Win Over Babson

Wellesley, Mass.-- Coast Guard men's swimming and diving defeated Babson, 179-89 in a New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) dual on Thursday afternoon to remain undefeated in the season.

The Bears took first place in 9/14 events. Coast Guard started with a win in the 200 Medley with the relay team of CJ Onweg, Chasse Sodemann, Tyler Dominick, and Joe Rodriguez finishing at 1:35.30.

Sophomore Josh Roh finished first in the 1000 Free with a time of 10:10.36. Senior Patrick Jackson took first in the 100 Back at 53:91. Senior Chasse Sodemann touched the wall at 59.64 in the 100 Breast in his first place finish. Rodriguez also completed the 50 Free with a time of 20.80.

Sophomore John Feller took first in the 100 Free with a 48.45 time. Freshman Devin McClure took the top spot in the 200 Back with a time of 1:56.71.  Sophomore Eric Fuhs finished the 200 Breast in 2:12.40 to give Coast Guard another first place finish. Senior Taylor Rowe rounded out the first place finishes for the Bears with a time of 4:50.70 in the 500 Free.

The Bears swept the 1M Diving event as freshman John Paul Arney took the top spot with a score of 167.75.

The No. 16 Coast Guard men will return to the pool on Saturday, January 12 at home when they host No. 5 MIT at 12:00 PM.
