NEW LONDON, Conn. – Coast Guard Academy junior Trey Johnson has been named the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Men's Lacrosse Defensive Athlete of the Week.
Johnson had a season high 13 saves in Coast Guard's 12-8 win over Maritime (N.Y.). Johnson has not allowed more than nine goals this season in any one of his six starts. He leads the NEWMAC with a 6.57 goal against average and he is 22nd in Division III in the same category.
The Bears are off to a 5-1 start and they are back in action on Tuesday night when they take on rival Connecticut College, ranked 20th nationally, for the first time in program history at 7:30 p.m.
