NORTHFIELD, Vt. – Four different Coast Guard players each scored three goals as the Bears cruised past Norwich 17-1 in a non-conference game.
Riley McNulty, Anthony Wyler, Benner Geurtsen and Ian Logan each had three goals as the Bears improved to 2-0 on the season.
Logan scored twice in the first quarter as the Bears led 4-0 after one. McNulty would find the back of the net twice in the second and the Bears extended the lead to 8-0 at halftime.
Wyler would score all three of his goals in the third as Coast Guard led 12-0 after three.
Coast Guard would outshoot the Cadets 61-21 and the Bears also held an advantage in clears (26-14), ground balls (24-11), and faceoff wins (13-9).
Trey Johnson made four saves in goal in 45 minutes to pick up the win.
Colin Cashin had a game-high seven ground balls to lead Coast Guard while Will Iorio had two of the Bears five assists in the win.
Coast Guard is back in action on Wednesday night when the Bears will host Wesleyan, the #1 team in the nation, at 7:00.
