Bears Finish Up Season at Regional Championship

WESTFIELD, Mass. - The Coast Guard women's cross country team finished their season with a 17th place finish at the NCAA Division III New England Championship hosted by Westfield State.

MIT, ranked second in the nation, finished in first with 68 points followed by Williams, fifth in the nation, with 71 points. 

Senior Bonny Turnage was the top finisher for the Bears crossing the finish line in 77th place (23:03.44). 

Following up Turnage was sophomore Anita Green in 98th place (23:24.75) and senior Gretchen Krause in 102nd place (23:26.36).

Senior Jenn Haley covered the 6k course in 24:02.79 (147th place) while freshman Kirsten Carson debuted at the regional championship with a 162nd place finish (24:14.57).

Freshman Olivia Suski was the final finisher for Coast Guard running 24:22.53 for a 171st place finish.

Many of the team will be back in action this indoor track and field season, opening with the Bears annual Winter Invitational on January 14.
