Bears Finish Season at Regional Championship

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. – The Coast Guard women's cross country team ran to a twentieth place, finishing with 602 points at the 2014 New England Division III Qualifier hosted by Williams College.

The Bears were led by junior Carolyn Smith his finished in 72nd place with a time of 23:40. Smith was followed by Bethany Gollin who covered the 6k course 24:05, good enough for 92nd place.

The third harrier across the line for Coast Guard was sophomore Jenn Haley who crossed the line in 24:42 finishing in 126th place.

The final two scorers for the Bears were junior Andrea Barrameda and freshman Rachel Burchill who finished in 153rd and 159th place with times of 25:04 and 25:08 respectively.

The overall winner was sophomore Sarah Quinn from MIT who ran a time 21:39 leading the Engineers to a first place finish with forty points. Middlebury College finished second with 65 points and Williams was third with 95 points.
