NEW YORK, N.Y. -- Marlena Budna hit .625 and had a match-high 10 kills leading Hunter to a 3-0 win over Coast Guard in a non-conference match.
The Hawks won by scores of 25-18, 25-16, 25-14 to improve to 13-5 on the season while Coast Guard suffered its fourth straight loss to drop to 14-6 overall.
Sophomore Bridget Boyle led Coast Guard with seven kills while freshman Maddie James finished with five kills. Sophomore Veronica Hine led the Bears with 18 digs and two aces.
Hunter jumped out to a 6-1 lead in the opener and never relinquished the advantage winning 25-18.
In the second set, the Hawks again got off to a fast start by scoring the first four points and later leading 7-5, Hunter ran off six straight for a 13-5 lead and won 25-16.
Hunter led Coast Guard 8-7 in the third before scoring six straight to take a 14-7 lead and closed out the match 25-14.
Coast Guard is back in action on Tuesday when the Bears travel to Wellesley for a NEWMAC match at 7:00.
