Coyle Named Women's Volleyball Coach at SUNY Oneonta
NEW LONDON, Conn. -- Ashley Coyle, assistant volleyball coach at the Coast Guard Academy for the past two seasons, has been named head coach at SUNY Oneonta.

SUNY Oneonta Director of Athletics Tracey Ranieri announced today the hiring Coyle to the position of Head Women's Volleyball Coach. Coyle replaces  Colleen Cashman who took a position on campus in the E.O.P. program. Cashman completed her 18th season this past fall as head coach and won 364 games during her tenure. Coyle will begin her duties on Monday, Mar. 13.
Coyle comes to Oneonta after serving the last two years as the Assistant Volleyball Coach at the United States Coast Guard Academy. Previously, she was an assistant with St. Lawrence University for two years (2013-15).
At both the Coast Guard Academy and St. Lawrence, Coyle was actively involved in all aspects of the volleyball program from practice planning, in-game coaching to recruiting and budget management.  She was also a coach for Club Volleyball teams in New London and Canton, N.Y.  At both stops, Coyle coached All-Conference, All-Region and All-American players.  While at St. Lawrence, she also served as an assistant compliance officer for the Saints Division I men's and women's ice hockey programs.
A 2012 graduate of SUNY Cortland where she majored in criminology, Coyle was a three-time AVCA All-American and was the team captain during her senior season. She was one of the premier outside hitters in the nation, leading her team to three SUNYAC titles and NCAA Regional Championship appearances. She was named the East Region's Player of the Year as she led the Red Dragons to the Elite 8 in 2011.
Coast Guard had a record of 36-24 in Coyle's two seasons as an assistant coach.

Coyle earned a Master's degree in Educational Leadership from St. Lawrence in 2015.
