Bears Split at Cortland; Dunton Named to All-Tourney Team

CORTLAND, N.Y. – For the second straight day, Coast Guard split a pair of matches at the Cortland Red Dragon Volleyball Classic.

Freshman Angelou Dunton was named to the All-tournament team for Coast Guard which is now 2-2 on the season.

The Bears beat Lebanon Valley 3-0 (25-14, 26-24, 25-22) in the opening match of the day as senior Susan West led the way with 16 kills hitting .333 to go with ten digs while Dunton had ten kills and eight digs. Junior Michelle McGill led the Bears with 25 digs while sophomore Hailye Reynolds led the way with 32 assists.

In the second match, Rochester beat the Bears 3-0 (25-20, 25-11, 25-19) to close out the day. It was West again leading the way, this time with seven kills. Reynolds had a team-high 24 assists and McGill added ten digs.

The Bears are back in action on Wednesday night at Eastern Connecticut at 7:30 p.m.
