NEW LONDON, Conn.-As the fall semester winds down and our Cadet-Athletes are wrapped up in exams the Athletic Department will take a look at the Top Moments from the Coast Guard fall sports season. The Department has compiled a top-ten list and will unveil one a day for ten business days starting with number ten and culminating with the announcement of the top moment on Tuesday, December 24th.
Today, in our Top Moments series, we'll look at the #5 moment from the fall which saw senior Kelsey DePorto named to the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) All-Conference team for the fourth consecutive season. She became just the third Coast Guard volleyball player to be named a four-time selection to the All-NEWMAC team, joining Nicole Gurr ('08) and Corinne McCormack ('07).
DePorto, a middle blocker, led the NEWMAC with 419 kills this season and was tops on the team with 87 blocks. She finished her career as the Bears all-time leader with 461 games played, second in blocks (447), and fourth in kills (1,323).
