NEW LONDON, Conn.-- Coast Guard women's track and field finished third overall with 137 points in the Coast Guard Invitational on Saturday afternoon. Connecticut College finished first with 149, Trinity was second with 147, then Coast guard with 137, Westfield State finished fourth with 115 points, Eastern Conn. St. was fifth with 82.50, Wellesley fninished sixth with 45, Babson finished in seventh with 29 and UMass Dartmouth finished eight with 21.50 points.
Sophomore Kaitlyn Mooney finished first overall in the 1500m with a time of 4:37.60.
The Bears finished in the top four slots in the 5000m. Senior Anita Green took first overall, clocking a 18:10.35 time for a career-best performance. Junior Olivia Suski finished second at 18:50.26, followed by Mia Huncharek at 18:53.95, and then Emma Sims at 18:57.81.
Senior Caroline Jenkins finished second overall in the 400m hurdles with a time of 1:08.00.
Sophomore Leilani Salang finished first overall in the discus throw at 41.47m (136'1") and second overall in the hammer throw at 44.01 (144'5")
Senior Kristina Bynum finished third in the long jump at 5.05m (16' 7").
The Bears are back in action next weekend at the Silfen Invitational at Connecticut College.
