BOSTON, Mass. – The Women's Coast Guard DMR broke the school record improving their chances on earning an invitation to the 2018 NCAA National Championship at the BU Last Chance Meet Saturday afternoon.

The quartet of junior Anita Green (3:43.5) sophomore Anna Beck (58.7), senior Ashlee Johnson (2:15.2) and freshman Kaitlyn Mooney (4:52.2) finished in sixth place crossing the line in 11:51.91. The time breaks their school record of 11:55.54 set earlier this season.

At the start of the day the Bears sat in 13th place in all of Division III for the event but should jump into the top 10 when all the times are collected after the weekend.

Sophomore Adora Lawrence was the only other athlete to compete for the Bears as she ran the second fastest time in the 800 in program history, crossing the line in 26th place in 2:17.68.

Coast Guard is back in action next weekend at the Tufts Last Chance Qualifier on March 3rd. It will be the last chance for the Bears to earn a bid to the NCAA Indoor Track & Field National Championship.
