Piker Places 12th in Javelin at NCAA Championships

WAVERLY, IOWA – Junior Caitlin Piker placed 12th of the 22 competitors in the javelin at the NCAA Division III Championships.

Piker, making her first NCAA appearance had a throw of 133 feet, 9.5 inches in her first attempt which was her best of the day.

She had the 18th best throw in the javelin in Division III this season with a school-record distance of 135 feet, seven inches, which she did at the New England Open Championships to earn All-New England honors with and eighth place finish as well as a spot at the NCAA Championship.

She earned All-NEWMAC honors with a second place finish with a toss of 121 feet, three inches and also earned Division III All-New England honors as she placed fourth with a throw of 129 feet, three inches.
