AMHERST, Mass. - Coast Guard women's track and field finished second at the Amherst Spring Fling hosted by Amherst College.
The Bears scored 110 points for second place while NEWMAC rival WPI won with 138.50 points.
Sophomores Gabrielle Troise and Alexia Troise were both winners in the field events as Alexia won the Discus (130'10") and Gabrielle was first in the hammer (142'5"). Senior Monet Masters won the pole vault clearing 10'11.75".
Alexia Troise was also second in the hammer (141'11") and Gabrielle Troise finished second in the shot with a throw of 38'1".
Coast Guard took two, three, four in the javelin as junior Caitlin Piker was second (97'6"),
Gabrielle was third (94'5") and senior Tara Larkin took fourth (89'11").
On the track freshman Caroline Jenkins crossed the line in fourth in the 100 hurdles in 16.69 and third in the 400 hurdles in 1:08.43.
Coast Guard is back in action next weekend when they travel to Springfield for a tri-meet with Springfield and WPI.
