Solid All-Around Day for Women’s Track at ECAC’s

TROY, N.Y.-Sophomore Monet Masters and senior Hannah Seeland both posted top-20 finishes to lead the Coast Guard women on day one of the 2014 ECAC Women's Outdoor Track and Field Championships, hosted by RPI.

Masters placed 16th in the pole vault with a best mark of 10 feet, 8 inches while Seeland was 17th in the hammer throw with a toss of 43.99 meters..

Freshman Carolyn Smith placed 23rd in the highly competitive field ran a time of 40:23.45. Fellow freshman Caitlin Piker had a best javelin toss of 33.23 meters to place 21st in the event.

The competition resumes tomorrow with day two of the championships, once again hosted by RPI.
