Sao Leads Bears to Split

WELLESLEY, Mass.—Sophomore Darlene Sao won three events and was part of the 400 freestyle relay team which placed second as Coast Guard split at Wellesley.

Coast Guard beat Babson 209-87, but fell to host Wellesley 203-96. The Bears are now 3-5 in dual meets this season.

Sao won the 200 freestyle (1:59.31), the 50 freestyle (25.79) and the 100 freestyle (55.38) while the Bears 400 freestyle relay of freshman Ashley Ezell, senior Erin Talbot, freshman Patricia Eidenire and Sao placed second with a time of 3:50.93.

Freshman Haley McWilliams won the 1,000 freestyle with a time of 10:58.64 and was second in the 500 freestyle (5:25.40) for Coast Guard.

Also for the Bears, junior Chantel Ferguson placed second in the 200 butterfly with a time of 2:18.41 and also placed second in the 200 IM in 2:18.66, senior Terri Jozsa took second in the 200 breaststroke (2:35.17) and sophomore Sara Cantrell took second in the 3-meter diving event with a score of 239.70.
