NEW LONDON, Conn.-- Kelly Mohr has been named the diving coach for both the men's and women's teams at the Coast Guard Academy replacing Bob Brooks, who held the role for the past 41 years.
She comes to the Academy from Wagner College where she spent two seasons as the diving coach and headed the program from its start.
A four-year letter winner at the University Rhode Island, Mohr was the team's top diver at the Atlantic 10 Championships all four seasons. She was voted senior captain and 'most outstanding diver, and graduated cum laude with a degree in Early Childhood Education and Human Development and Family Studies, making the All-Conference Honor Roll every year from 2005-2009. Mohr was also a member of the National Society of Collegiate Scholars, Kappa Delta Pi Education Honor Society and the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee.
Before her recruitment to Rhode Island, Mohr won the CCC South diving championships, capturing the CCC South diving record and the diving record for Maloney High School in Meriden, Conn.
