HACKETTSTOWN, N.J. – A first half goal by freshman Sarah Racine was the only goal of the afternoon as the Coast Guard women's soccer team fell in their season opener 1-0 to Drew Friday at the Cyclones Kickoff Classic hosted by Centenary University.

It was first game of the season for the two teams and also the first meeting between the two teams.

The Rangers scored the game's only goal in the 33rd minute as junior Caroline Kelly fired a shot on goal. Junior goalkeeper Rachel Boohar was able to make the save but the shot went right back to Kelly who slipped Racine into the penalty box. Racine collected the pass and fired her first collegiate goal into the back of the net.

Neither team mustered much offense in the second half as the two teams combined for only two shots on goal in the second half making the final score 2-0.

Rachel Boohar (0-1) made five saves on six shots on goal allowing the one goal in the 32:19 minute.

Freshman Madison Dudziec (1-0) got her first career start in goal and the opening season win making two saves on two shots on goal in the first half. Junior Brielle Castanheria played the second half facing zero shots on goal.

The Bears are back in action tomorrow, September 2nd, when they take on Lehman at 3:00 on day two of the Cyclones Kickoff Classic.
