BRISTOL, R.I. - Senior Phil Azzari, junior Christopher Sullivan and sophomore Nick Remke all earned Pilgrim Wrestling League second team honors while freshman Owen McClave was an honorable mention selection.
Sullivan (29-7) was fourth at the NCAA Northeast Regional this past season and record six falls. He was a second team selection his freshman year and as a sophomore was named Pilgrim League Wrestler of the Year.
Azzari (25-13) wrestled this past season at 197 record four falls and earning a fourth place finish at the Roger Williams Invitational, a third place finish at the Doug Parker Invitational and a sixth place finish at the NCAA Northeast Regional.
Remke (29-8) earned second team honors for the first time in his career at 165 pounds. He recorded four falls and had top finishes at the Roger Williams Invitational (2nd), the Doug Parker Invitational (1st), the New Standard Invitational (4th), the All-Academy Championship (4th) and at the NCAA Northeast Regional (5th). His 29 wins were tied for most on the team with Sullivan.
McClave (13-4) racked up two falls in his debut year for the Bears helping him earn honorable mention honors. He was fourth at the Roger Williams Invitational while also recording an important sudden death victory against Merchant Marine in Coast Guard's 31-10 win against their rivals.
These four wrestlers helped the Bears to their third straight winning season (11-5) and spent the majority of the season ranked in the top 20 in all of Division III.
