Wrestling Moves into Top 20

NEW LONDON, Conn. - The Coast Guard wrestling team jumped all the way to No. 16 in the nation in the most recent National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) poll. 

The Bears are now 8-4 in dual meets this season and just finished in third place at the New England Wrestling Association (NEWA) Duals Championship behind No. 3 Johnson & Wales and No. 7 Roger Williams.  

Coast Guard has been led this season by junior Chris Sullivan who is ranked fifth in the nation at 157. He is 23-3 with six wins by falls. 

Also making a major impact for the Bears is sophomore Nick Remke. Remke is a combined 22-4 at 165 and 174 with three pins and was just named to the NEWA Duals Championships All-Tournament team. 

Coast Guard is back in action this weekend when they travel to the Naval Academy for the All-Academy Championships on Sunday, January 29.
