Beavers Top Bears in NEWMAC Action

BABSON PARK, Mass. - Babson topped Coast Guard Academy in New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) women's lacrosse action on Wednesday afternoon at MacDowell Field 18-0.

Coast Guard slips to 2-12 overall and 0-7 in the NEWMAC while Babson recorded its sixth consecutive win. The Beavers are now 10-3 overall and 6-0 in conference play.

Sophomore Angel Fay made five of her six saves in the first half to go along with two ground balls and two caused turnovers for the Bears.

Junior goalkeeper Stevie Burger made two saves to post her first career shutout.

The Beavers finished with a 31-2 edge in shots, won 14-of-19 draw controls and went 11-for-11 on clears.

Both teams return to action on Saturday as Babson hosts Springfield at 1 p.m., while Coast Guard takes on Smith at 12 p.m.
