SOUTH HADLEY, Mass. - Coast Guard fell to Mount Holyoke by a final score of 17-3 in New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) action.
With the loss the Bears fall to 2-10 overall and 0-5 in conference play. The Lyons improve to 2-8 on the season and 1-4 in the NEWMAC.
Mount Holyoke was led by senior Julia Bell who had a game high five goals while junior Charlotte Wagner scored four and sophomore Leila Kouakou added three. Senior Catherine Ryan tallied eight assists on the night giving her a NEWMAC leading 31 on the season.
The Lyons scored the first seven goals of the game before Hosley took one back with 52 seconds to go in the first half.
Kokomoor and McKenna each had their goals early in the second half but the Lyons scored the final seven goals of the game for the 17-3 win.
Sophomore Angel Fay (2-10) made eight saves on 33 shots faced. Fay leads the conference with 111 saves on the season.
Junior Isa Rodrigues (2-8) started in goal for the Lyons, making six saves and allowing three goals. Sophomore Clarissa Leight played the final 13:25 making two saves.
Coast Guard returns home this weekend with a conference game against Wellesley. Game time is 1:00 pm.
