PROVIDENCE, R.I.--Coast Guard senior attacker Kaitlin Dickson notched seven points on three goals and four assists to lead the visiting Bears to a 14-4 victory over Rhode Island College in women's lacrosse action played at the RIC Lacrosse Field on Saturday afternoon.

The Bears (1-4) wasted no time getting on the board, with sophomore attacker Cecelia Hosley scoring at the 2:26 mark of the first half off a feed from Dickson. CGA rallied off the next five goals, which included three from Dickson, before a RIC (0-1) tally from freshman attacker Tess Bradley made the score 6-1 after 23:41 of action.

The Bears struck for two more scores in the half, but Bradley's second of the day off a feed from junior midfielder Allison Smedberg sent the game into the half with RIC trailing by six, 8-2. The damage could have been worse for the Anchorwomen, as Coast Guard had two goals disallowed for using an illegal stick.

The Bears tallied three quick goals to open the second half, which included a pair from freshman attacker Carter Sanderson to put CGA up by nine, 11-2. Bradley notched her third goal of the afternoon, followed by a score from junior midfielder Betsy Heidel (Warwick, RI), to cut the deficit down to seven, 11-4, but three goals late in the game by the visitors would secure the 14-4 victory.

Coast Guard held a 37-16 advantage in shots and a 34-19 edge in ground balls for the game. The Bears also dominated draw controls, winning 13 in the contest. Sophomore goalkeeper Angel Fay (1-4) stopped 11 saves in the victory. Dickson's three goals and four assists paced the Bears attack, while sophomore attacker Daria McKenna was second on the team with two goals and two assists for four points.

The Anchorwomen held a 13-11 edge in saves for the contest. Freshman goalkeeper Julia Eaton (0-1) notched 13 saves in her collegiate debut, making seven in the first half. Bradley led the way for RIC, scoring three goals for three points. Smedberg led the team with one assist, with Heidel ranking second on the squad with one goal.

The Bears are back in action on Wednesday, March 16th when they visit Mass. Maritim for a nonconference tilt. Game time is 7:00.
