NEW LONDON, Conn.-The Coast Guard women's lacrosse team won a trio of games on Saturday afternoon to stay unbeaten in league play and improve to 6-1 overall on the season.
Game One: Coast Guard 17, WPI 7
Four Coast Guard players tallied three goals as the Bears cruised to a 17-7 victory over visiting WPI on Saturday morning. Sophomore Kaitlin Dickson, freshman Niki Kruger, sophomore Anne Schneider, and junior Ruby Surgent each co-led the team.
In goal freshman Hannah Delguercio made nine saves while allowing just six goals after getting the start. Junior Cathy Flocken made a pair of saves and allowed just a single goal in relief of Delguercio.
Game Two: Coast Guard 15, Harvard 11
Kaitlin Dickson scored four goals and Niki Kruger added three of her own to lead Coast Guard to a 15-11 victory over Harvard in game two on Saturday afternoon. Four other players added a pair of goals as well on the afternoon.
Hannah Delguercio recorded four saves against the Crimson and Coast Guard out-gained Harvard by a count of 11-10 in draw controls. Dickson and Ruby Surgent each had four ground balls in the game for the Bears.
Game Three: Coast Guard 18, Tufts 10
Hannah Delguercio stopped six of 16 shots she faced to lead Coast Guard to a 18-10 victory over Tufts to complete a three-game sweep on the day.
Anne Schneider led the way offensively with four goals while Ruby Surgent and junior Victoria Borges each added three of their own. Coast Guard tallied 12 draw controls against just nine for Tufts.
Coast Guard will be back in action on Sunday, April 13th when they wrap up the regular season, hosting Rhode Island and Army starting at 10:00 am.
