Doug Clark was named Director of Sailing in January 2005. Doug manages the five member coaching staff and is responsible for all competitive, recreational, and instructional sailing programs.
    
Doug is a 1986 graduate of the University of Rhode Island and was an All-America sailor his senior year. Doug has over 20 years coaching experience with tremendous successes achieved while at the Naval Academy, then the Merchant Marine Academy, coaching teams to several national titles, producing numerous All-America sailors and three Sailor-of-the-Year awardees.
    
He is an active competitor in multiple one-design classes winning several National Championships and finishing in the top ten in four International World Championships. Doug received a DOT Outstanding Unit Award for his participation in USMMA waterborne assistance operation in the rescue and recovery efforts at Ground Zero following the terrorist attacks of September 11th.
