|High School:||School Without Walls|
Major: Marine environmental science.
Why did you choose to come to the Coast Guard Academy?: I have had some of my best moments sailing, at the beach, and being around the water in general. I came to the Coast Guard Academy because I want other people to feel safe enough on the water so that they can have the same experiences I have had.
How long have you been sailing? How did you start sailing?: I started sailing at summer camp every year when I was eleven. In high school, I joined the racing team, and that got me here today!
What is your favorite thing about the sailing team at Coast Guard?: In high school, I practiced with a bunch of other school teams because there is not a lot of practice area in Washington DC. Everyone was disconnected. I like sailing at the Academy because everyone on the team seems to get along really well. We also have soo many boats.
What other activities/positions/clubs are you involved with on campus?: So far, the only other club I am in is the Cadet Activities Council.
What is the sailing acheivement that you are most proud of?: I didn't achieve too much in sailing before coming here, so I would have to say that I am most proud of going from being a horrible crew on the first day of CGA practice to being in the spot that I am in after two weeks.
What are your future sailing plans and career goals after graduation?: Later on in life, I'm going to have a sweet sail boat that goes really fast.
Tell us something that your teammates would be surprised to know about you.: I have a nephew that has a daughter, making me a great aunt.
