Major: Management

Why did you choose to come to the Coast Guard Academy? From seeing the Academy for my first time during AIM, I knew that the Military structure and atmosphere was the life for me. The Coast Guard Academy is the perfect fit for me because it is a small school and will allow me to become an officer in the Coast Guard where I can make a difference regarding the safety of boaters on the water.

How long have you been sailing? How did you start sailing? I have been sailing since I was six years old and I started sailing when I was finally old enough to get into the boat and start lessons. I started so that I could beat my brother in it.

What is your favorite thing about the sailing team at Coast Guard? I really love the sailing center and the venue even though the water is a little bit browner here. Ha Ha. Best of all, I love the close-knit feeling between all of the team members.

What are your future sailing plans and career goals after graduation? I plan to go to the 2016 Olympics and many more after that. As for the Coast Guard I want to one day become the Captain of the Eagle.

Tell us something that your teammates would be surprised to know about you. I danced Ballet for 16 years and enjoy making crème brulee.
