Why did you choose to come to the Coast Guard Academy? My entire life, I have been around the water and around boats. From waterskiing behind ski boats to going on weekend sails with my dad, I grew to love the water. The Coast Guard Academy just seems like the natural choice for a kid who likes the water and boats.
How long have you been sailing? How did you start sailing? For as long as I can remember, I have been on sailboats, both big and small. I sailed recreationally up until high school, when I joined the sailing team and started racing competitively.
What is your favorite thing about the sailing team at Coast Guard? I love the fact that we have such a wide variety of boats, and everyone is so helpful and knowledgeable.
What other activities/positions/clubs are you involved with on campus? Outdoor adventure club, aviation club, ski club, cadet activities council, culinary club
What is the sailing acheivement that you are most proud of?High school nationals fleet racing in Chicago in freezing cold weather and
What are your future sailing plans and career goals after graduation? I plan to sail whenever possible after graduation, maybe get a big boat for nice weekend cruises.
