Why did you choose to come to the Coast Guard Academy? I chose to come to the CGA because it was the best idea for my future. I attended prep school last year, which helped me solidify my decision in coming to the academy. Also, the Genesis Invitational helped me want to come to the Academy because of how small the school is, and the family atmosphere that I would experience here.

How long have you been sailing? How did you start sailing? I have been sailing for only a year. After sailing during Swab Summer I thought that it would be something different and a good experience.

What is your favorite thing about the sailing team at Coast Guard? I like the camaraderie on the team. We all get along and have fun on and off the water. Everyone challenges each other and is always willing to help a shipmate out.

What other activities/positions/clubs are you involved with on campus? I am part of the Spectrum Club, Genesis Club, IEEE, and SWE.

What is the sailing achievement that you are most proud of? Almost winning in a women’s regatta, and competing well during the season.

What are your future sailing plans and career goals after graduation? I want to become a better crew, and upon graduation I would like to go Sector and then into another branch of the Department of Homeland Security, possibly the NSA.

Tell us something that your teammates would be surprised to know about you. I love all things computers, and I am a videographer, photographer, and graphic designer.
