Why did you choose the Coast Guard Academy?

A chance to serve others and no student debt afterwards.

How long have you been sailing?

About a year and a half now since I came to the Academy. I thought it was a good sport to try while I was here since we have an awesome waterfront program.

What is your favorite thing about the sailing team?

I love the people. Almost all of my best friends sail with me, which is awesome because we get to hang out all the time.

What other activities/positions/clubs are you involved with?

I'm involved with a number of clubs and organizations on campus: Cadets Against Sexual Assault, the Peer Tutoring program, Color Guard, CGA Science Program for Innovations in Learning (SPIL), Cadet Blog program, and Catholic Scripture Study. I also work in the CGA Plasma Lab for a directed study program.

What sailing achievement are you most proud of?

Racing in the Annapolis Newport Race during the summer of 2015.

What are your future sailing plans and career goals after graduation?

I want to get involved with a local regatta series wherever I end up after graduation. I hope to go to Pensacola Flight school and train to become a rotor wing pilot.
