Conference Honors Coast Guard Rifle Team Members

In the wake of a successful season, Coast Guard rifle team members have been honored by the Mid Atlantic Rifle Conference for achievements both on the range and in the classroom.

After having won the conference team title in air rifle competition, team captain junior Nick Paisker, ranked fourth, was named to the conference first team, while fifth ranked freshman Alexandria Harrington earned second team honors. Sophomore Lindsey Critser rounded out the Bears All Conference Air Rifle awardees as an honorable mention, standing tenth over all in a field of 92 athletes.

Smallbore saw Paisker, a Mechanical Engineering major, again on the first team as his average was second in the conference along with Harrington who had the fourth highest average, was also on the first team. Critser, who studies Marine and Environmental Science, placed on the second team as the eighth best shot in the conference. Paisker and Critser were also designated as Conference All-Academic Team members, an honor which does not include freshman.

Five Bear freshmen made up half of the conference All Rookie Team, Skye Ambrose, Melissa Brizzi, Jacob Dupree, Harrington, and Randall Ford

Rifle loses no one to graduation and with the entire team returning, the 2016-17 season looks bright.
