NEW LONDON, Conn. -- The Coast Guard rifle team lost to an excellent Texas Christian University team 4615-4346. Freshman Nicholas Paisker led the Bears with a combined score of 1111, firing a 545 in smallbore and a 566 in air rifle. He led the Bears in smallbore and air rifle, while co-captain junior Alexis Chavarria-Aguilar had the second highest score in smallbore and air rifle, 542 and 556 respectively.
Senior Daniela Andrade, Nicholas Paisker, Alexis Chavarria-Aguilar, Co-Captain Junior Marek Pilarski, and Sophomore Vincent Lee were members of Coast Guard's five-man team in both disciplines.
The Bears face more tough competition next weekend in a two-day tournament when they head to Cambridge, Mass. for the Bean Pot Tournament, January 25th and 26th. Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Wentworth, and Penn State will all be challenging for the Bean Pot.
