Bears Compete in National Intercollegiate Pistol Championships.

FORT BENNING, Fla. - Coast Guard pistol shooters traveled to Fort Benning, Georgia on March 22-26 to participate in the 2015 Intercollegiate Pistol Championships. This competition determined the National Collegiate Individual and Team Champions in Open Free Pistol, Open Standard Pistol, Open Air Pistol, Women's Air Pistol and Women's Sport Pistol. The Bears earned the invitation based on scores fired in the 2015 NRA Intercollegiate Pistol Sectionals held at West Point, NY.

The top ten ranking teams and the top thirty ranking individuals in each open event and the top seven Women's Team and top twenty women in the women's events were invited. This year senior Hannah Cronin shot open free pistol, and senior Corrin Nolin shot open standard pistol. Cronin and Nolin both were invited to participate in Women's Air and Women's Sport Pistol. Supporting them in Women's Air and Women's Sport Pistol Team events was freshman Meghan Van Hise.

In what was her last appearance for the Bears, Cronin notched a personal best in free. She missed participating in the Women's Air Pistol final by three points but led Coast Guard to a sixth place aggregate finish in women's team competition, one place better than last year.
