NEW LONDON Conn. -- Coast Guard pistol shooters will be on the road to Fort Benning, Georgia on March 21-27 to participate in the 2015 National Intercollegiate Pistol Championships.

The National Intercollegiate Pistol Championships will determine the National Collegiate Individual and Team Champions in Free Pistol, Standard Pistol, Open Air Pistol, Women's Air Pistol and Women's Sport Pistol.

The Bears earned the invitation based on scores fired in the 2015 NRA Intercollegiate Pistol Sectionals held at West Point, New York.

The top ten ranking teams in the open category and the top thirty ranking individuals in each open event in the 2015 NRA Intercollegiate Pistol have been invited.

This year that group includes senior Hannah Cronin who will be shooting free pistol, and senior Corrin Nolin who earned her invitation with the standard pistol. Supporting them in team event will be freshmen Meghan Van Hise, Kevin Lennox, and Dustin Smith.

The Bears look to improve on their 2014 overall sixth place finish in the National rankings.
