Sibilski, Carts are Bears Top Performers

NEW LONDON, Conn.--Senior Jacob Sibilski led the Bears with a combined score of 1574, firing a 538 Air Pistol, 543 Standard Pistol, and a 493 Free Pistol.

Co-captain senior Laura Carts led the Bears in Air Pistol with a 547, while Sibilski led the team in Standard Pistol and Free Pistol.

Due to the Government shutdown, the scheduled competition against the US Merchant Marine Academy was postponed. Instead the Bears shot a postal match against the Puerto Rican National Team. At this time, their scores have not been received.

In Women's Sport Pistol, Junior Corrin Nolin fired a 533 to lead the Coast Guard team to a fine score of 1577.
Carts, Sibilski, co-captain junior Hannah Cronin, and sophomore Caleb Metroka were members of Coast Guard's five-man team in all disciplines. Freshman Emily Burlison fired in the Air Pistol discipline, while Nolin fired in the Standard Pistol and Free Pistol events.

The Bear's Pistol Team is doing very well for their first competition of the season. But the Bears face some stiff competition when the defending National Collegiate Champion US Military Academy and Yale visit this weekend, November 2nd and 3rd.
