Coast Guard Fourth at NEWMAC Championships

NORTHAMPTON, Mass. - Led by senior Caleb Teachout, the Bears ran to a fourth place finish at the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Championship.

The Bears scored 112 points for the fourth place finish. MIT won the team championship for the 19th year in a row with 15 points while WPI was in second with 55 points. Babson finished in third place with 96 points.

Teachout ran 27:03 for his 27th place finish followed by classmate Zachary Velasquez in 30th place (27:08) and junior Christian Fields in 31st place (27:11).

Freshman Jacob Panning crossed the line in 27:17 (34th place) while senior James Rimmele ran 27:19 for 36th place.

Sophomore Alex Kearney (27:23) and junior Timothy O'Loughlin (27:38) rounded out the top seven for Coast Guard with 40th and 42nd place finished respectively.

Coast Guard has a weekend off before they are back in action on Saturday, November 12th at the Division III New England Qualifier hosted by Westfield State.
