Bear's Wrap up 10th Place Finish

MOUNT MORRIS, N.Y. - Coast Guard ran to a tenth place finish at the 38th Annual Mike Woods Geneseo Cross Country Invitational hosted by SUNY Geneseo at Letchworth State Park.

The Bears scored 253 points for the tenth place finish. Host SUNY Geneseo won in dominating fashion putting seven runners in the top 10 for 17 points.

Senior Caleb Teachout (25:59.9) was Coast Guard's top finisher crossing the line in 23rd place.

Senior Zachary Velasquez also logged a top fifty finish for Coast Guard running 26:51.4 for 50th place. 

The next three runners for the Bears came in a group as freshman Andre Gallant (27:19.2), sophomore Colton Atkinson (27:25.9) and freshman Jacob Panning (27:31.1) finished in 79th, 89th and 96th place respectively.

Rounding out the top seven for Coast Guard was junior Christian Fields running 27:34.5 for 104th place and senior James Rimmele covered the course in 27:41.1 coming across the line in 118th place.

The Bears are back in action next weekend, October 8th, when they travel to Westfield State for the James Early Invitational which will also be the site for the New England Division III Championship at the end of the season.
