Coast Guard Earns Top Ten Finish at UMass Dartmouth

DARTMOUTH, Mass. – The Bears ran to a seventh place finish at the UMass Dartmouth Cross Country Invitational.

Coast Guard scored 230 points for seventh while division II American International won the meet with 52 points. The Bears were the 5th division III team finisher.

Senior Zachary Velasquez was the top finisher for Coast Guard crossing the line in 18th place in a time of 25:45.14. Senior Caleb Teachout was less than ten seconds behind Velasquez (25:53.18) in 23rd place.

The Bear's third harrier was senior James Rimmele in 27:01.86 for a 59th place finish, while junior Christian Field (27:12.46) crossed the line 69th.

Freshman Andre Gallant and sophomore Alex Kearney crossed the line one after another as Gallant was 79th (27:21.16) and Kearney was 80th (27:21.56).

Rounding out the top seven for the Bears was sophomore Colton Atkinson running 27:42.05 for a 94th place finish.

Coast Guard is off until October 1st when they travel to the SUNY Geneseo Invitational.
