Coast Guard 13th at New England Championship

WATERFORD, Conn. - The Bears ran to a 13th place finish at the NCAA Division III New England Championship hosted by Conn. College.

Coast Guard scored 395 points and was the third NEWMAC across the line.

Williams won the meet barely edging out Amherst by one point, 67-68.

The Bear's first runner across the line was sophomore Andrew Brown covering the 8k course in 26:00.01 putting him in 65th place. Right behind Brown in 67th place was junior Caleb Teachout in a time of 26:01.9.

The third harrier across the line for Coast Guard was junior Zachary Velasquez in 70th place crossing the line in 26:05.3.

Rounding out the scoring for the Bears was senior Kevin Petow (26:25.5) and junior Gilliam Hill (26:34.0)in 94th place and 99th street respectively.

Coast Guard returns 17 runners to a team that was third at the NEWMAC Championship. Congratulations on a successful career and good luck to seniors Kevin Petow and Jake Yallowitz.
