Bears Compete at ECAC Championship

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. – Led by freshman Alex Kearney Coast Guard ran to a 19th place finish at the ECAC championships hosted by Williams.

Amherst won the meet with 53 points putting three runners in the top ten.

Kearney covered the 8,000 meter course in 28:24.89 for a 68th place finish. The second harrier in for the Bears was fellow freshman Colton Atkinson crossing the line in 28:54.09 placing 95th.

Senior Jacob Yallowitz was just a second behind Atkinson in a time of 28:55.31 and one place back in 96th place.

Rounding out the top five for Coast Guard was sophomore Ryan Condon (29:40.06) and junior Casey Dieter-Leeds (29:59.46) in 134th and 151st place respectfully.

The Bears are back in action next weekend when they compete at the New England Division III Championships hosted by Conn. College at Harkness Park.
