Bears Place 2nd at Trinity Invitational

MANCHESTER, Conn. – Coast Guard took four of the top 12 spots to finish second overall at the season-opening Trinity Invitational.

Gilliam Hill was the top Bear finisher as he placed fourth overall (16:47) while Andrew Brown was fifth (16:47), Caleb Teachout was tenth (17:00) and Kevin Petow placed 12th in 17:06.

"Our guys executed their race well. They went out pretty smooth and comfortable and made some strong passes as they moved through the race," said Coast Guard head coach Ethan Brown. "It's still early in the season and this is a great sign of thing to come."

Host Trinity won with 41 points while the Bears finished with 57 points edging Division I Hartford which had 59 points.

Coast Guard will be back in action on Sept. 26th at the Purple Valley Invitational at Williams College.
