Men's XC finshes 4th at UMass Dartmouth Invitational

DARTMOUTH, MA - The men's cross country posted a fourth place finish out of 39 competing teams at the UMass Dartmouth Invitational 8K. 

Leading the way for the Bears was junior Gary Ezzo finishing in 11th place out of 293 competitors and crossing the finish in 25:17. In the second spot for Coast Guard was sophomore Joey O'Connell who finished 26th and crossed the line in 25:56.

The final scoring members of the Coast Guard Academy were juniors Ryan O'Neill and Jordan Lee, and sophomore James Martin. All three runners crossed the finish line within 21 seconds of each other, helping to secure the fourth place team finish. O'Neill was 45th (26:20), Lee was 57th (26:32), and Martin was 67th (26:41).

Also posting strong performances were Brad Pienta (26:53), Stephen Horvath (27:00), and Nick Foster (27:18).

"I'm very pleased with our performances today," said head coach Ethan Brown after the race. "These guys have been working their tail off and it's great to see the fruits of their labor."

Next weekend the Bears will travel to Middletown CT for a tri-meet at Wesleyan University.
