Bears Open Up Indoor Track and Field Season

Medford, Mass.-- Men's indoor track and field opened up their indoor season at the Tufts Invitational in a non-scoring meet.

Coast Guard had a number of top performances. Josiah Davis finished first in the 800m run with a time of 1:55.39. Andre Gallant finished the 5000m run with a time of 15:26.30. The 4x800 relay team of Greg Costello, Matthew Kerst, Owen Piatt, and Dominic Roberts topped the relay with a 8:35.05 time.

The Bears took the first two spots in the 4x400 relay. The team of Jacob Pawlina, Nicholas Frystak, Matthew Perlich, and Daniel Taglianetti grabbed the top spot at 3:30.31. The team of Josiah Davis, Sydney Johnson, James Duren, and Miguel Moroles followed behind at 3:30.61 for the second place finish.

Michael Frick won the pole vault event, 4.55m (14 feet, 11 inches) to wrap up Coast Guard's first place finishes for the day.

The Bears will return to action next Saturday, January 19 when they travel to Wheaton for the Wheaton Invitational.
