BRUNSWICK, Maine-Junior Ben Hannon won a pair of events to pace the Coast Guard men's track and field team to seven individual victories and a third place finish at the Bowdoin Invitational.
Hannon claimed victories in both the 200 (23.43) and 400 (52.38) meter runs, being followed across the line both times by teammates. Junior James Dawkins was second in the 200 (23.52) while sophomore Frederick Higgins and Junior Kelcey Smith completed a clean sweep in the 400 with times of 52.43 and 52.59, respectively.
Seniors Adam Scalesse (60 hurdles, 8.58), Ben Wolhaupter (pole vault, 14 feet 11 inches), and Thomas Bondurant (weight throw, 51 feet 4.5 inches) each claimed victories as well while junior James Martin won the 800 in a time of 1:58.42.
Senior Jordan Lee was second in the 1000 meter run with a time of 2:31.62 while the 4x800 relay team (Lee, sophomore Ben Chapman, senior Brad Pienta, freshman Zachary Velasquez) claimed a victory in that event.
Coast Guard returns to action on Friday, January 31st when they compete at the Tufts Invitational.
