Kosack 5th After Day One at Tufts Invitational

MEDFORD, Mass.-- After Day One of competition at the Tufts University Heptathlon, junior Clay Kosack is in 5th place with 2310 points.

Kosack had three personal record performances in his events for the day. Starting the day, Clay ran his fastest 60 meter dash in 7.58 to score 687 points. In his second event, he jumped 18' 9.25" in the long jump. Kosack's top performance of the day came from the shot put where he won the event with a throw of 39' .5" to score 600 points. In the final event of the day, he cleared a height of 5' 4.5", a college best.

Kosack will return to competition on Saturday in the final events of the heptathlon starting with the 60 meter hurdles, then the pole vault, and finishing with the 1000 meter run.
