Bears Place Second at UMass Dartmouth

DARTMOUTH, MASS.--(4/7/12)--Coast Guard won four events leading the Bears to a second place finish at the Corsair Classic at UMass Dartmouth.

The Bears were second with 116 points while host UMass Dartmouth won the 14 team meet with 141.5 points.

Sophomore Ben Wolhaupter won the pole vault (14-3.5) while freshman Christian Von Stralendorff was third (10-6).

Sophomore Adam Scalesse won the 400 hurdles with a time of 54.60, senior Joe Hill won the 5,000 meters with a time of 15:39.40 while sophomore Matt Monahan took third in the event with a time of 16:26.30.

Senior Kevin O'Brien won the 10,000 meters with a time of 32:50.74 while freshman Joey O'Connell was second in the 10,000 posting a time of 33:13.74.

Also for the Bears, junior Will Baker placed second in the discus (143-09) and third in the hammer (145-08).
